A post on X that has gone viral recently has become another proof of the incredible impact of Indiana Fever star rookie Caitlin Clark on women’s basketball.
“One of the boys in my PE class just yelled “Caitlin Clark” as he took a deep 3. We’re in a new era people. Everyone watches women’s sports,” X (formerly known as X) user @Kalie623 posted.
Even before she made her preseason debut in the WNBA, Clark was already a big name, thanks to her unforgettable career with the Iowa Hawkeyes during her collegiate career.
It’s not just her scoring production that has gotten her popularity to go through the roof but her style and flair on the court. She shoots stepback 3-pointers, and takes (and makes) shots from near halfcourt, while also still being an excellent passer and solid rebounder.
During her four-year career with the Hawyekes, Clark averaged 28.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists, while making 46.2 percent of her shots from the field and 37.7 percent of her attempts from long distance.
Everyone’s on the Caitlin Clark bandwagon that should get even fuller once she starts to show her talents in the 2024 WNBA regular season. She’s already started to scare the rest of the league when she dropped 21 points with five 3-pointers, albeit in a 79-76 preseason loss to the Dallas Wings on May 3.
